Vietnam recorded about 18 billion cashless transactions in the first nine months of this year, with total values exceeding 260 quadrillion Vietnamese dong (about 9.9 billion U.S. dollars), Vietnam News Agency reported on Thursday, citing the State Bank of Vietnam.
Of the total, internet-based payments reached 3.4 billion transactions worth more than 76 quadrillion Vietnamese dong (about 2.89 billion dollars), according to the central bank's payment department.
Mobile-based payments accounted for nearly 12 billion transactions with a total value of over 64 quadrillion Vietnamese dong (about 2.43 billion dollars).
