Vietnam will streamline nearly 800 administrative procedures by replacing paper documents with verified data from national databases starting Jan. 1, 2026, Vietnam News Agency reported Monday.
Under a newly issued resolution, a total of 786 administrative procedures managed by 14 ministries and one ministerial-level agency will have their required paperwork reduced or replaced with data extracted from digital databases.
The resolution stipulates that certain documents required in the administrative procedures may be substituted with existing information from national and specialized databases on population, business registration, land, healthcare, and other fields, eliminating the need for citizens and organizations to repeatedly submit physical documents.
The resolution also applies to both domestic and foreign individuals and organizations operating in Vietnam.
