Vietnam aims to increase its state budget revenue by 28.6 percent by 2026 compared with the 2025 projection, the local daily Nhan Dan (People) reported Thursday, citing the Ministry of Finance's budget plan.
The total state budget revenue for 2026 was estimated at 2.53 quadrillion Vietnamese dong (about 97 billion U.S. dollars), while total expenditure is projected at 3.16 quadrillion Vietnamese dong (about 121 billion dollars), up 22.6 percent year-on-year.
The state budget deficit for 2026 is expected to reach 605.8 trillion Vietnamese dong (about 23.2 billion dollars), equivalent to around 4.2 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), according to the report.
The three-year financial and budget plan for 2026-2028 envisions an average annual budget mobilization of up to 18 percent of GDP and a public debt level of around 40 percent of GDP by 2028, the report said.
