Vietnam's gross domestic product (GDP) expanded 7.85 percent year on year in the first nine months of 2025, Vietnam News Agency reported on Monday, citing the National Statistics Office (NSO).

The nine-month growth rate was the second highest in the 2011-2025 period, following a 9.44-percent surge recorded in the same period of 2022, the report said.

The agriculture, forestry and fishery sector expanded by 3.83 percent compared to the same period last year, while the industry and construction sector grew by 8.69 percent, and services rose by 8.49 percent, according to the data from NSO.

NSO's Director General Nguyen Thi Huong said the agro-forestry-fishery sector remained stable despite storms and floods, thanks to timely disaster response measures, while manufacturing and processing continued to drive industrial growth.

She noted that services flourished on the back of strong domestic consumption, tourism and retail demand, with wholesale and retail up 8.28 percent, transport and warehousing up 10.68 percent, and accommodation and catering services up 10.15 percent.
