Vietnam's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 8.22 percent year-on-year in the third quarter of 2025, Vietnam News Agency reported on Sunday, citing Vietnam's Ministry of Finance.

Speaking at a government meeting on Sunday morning, representatives from the ministry noted that this was the highest third-quarter expansion since 2011, excluding 2022, when growth surged due to post-pandemic recovery.

In the third quarter, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector grew by 3.74 percent from a year earlier, while industry and construction expanded 9.46 percent, and services rose 8.54 percent, according to the report.

From January to September, Vietnam's GDP increased by 7.84 percent year on year. During this period, agriculture, forestry and fishery rose 3.83 percent, industry and construction climbed 8.69 percent, and services grew 8.48 percent, the report said.

Despite the impact of eight storms in the third quarter, including four in September, Vietnam's economy maintained strong momentum, with the manufacturing and processing industry remaining a key growth driver, the report added.
