Myanmar exported over 1.2 million tons of rice and broken rice in the first six months of the current fiscal year (FY) 2025-2026, according to the Myanmar Rice Federation on Thursday.
The Southeast Asian country earned about 408 million U.S. dollars from the exports during the six months, from April to September this year, the federation's data showed.
During the period, the country exported rice and broken rice via both sea and land routes to more than 30 countries, it said.
In the 2024-25 fiscal year, the country exported 2.48 million tons of rice and broken rice, the federation said.
The federation aims to achieve 3 million tons of rice exports in the current fiscal year 2025-2026, it said.
