Vietnam's total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenues rose by 9.3 percent year on year in the first half of 2025, reaching over 3.4 quadrillion Vietnamese dong (approximately 130 billion U.S. dollars), Vietnam News Agency reported Monday, citing data from the Ministry of Finance.
Revenues from accommodation and catering services grew by 14.7 percent during the period to 409.5 trillion dong (15.6 billion dollars), while tourism revenues surged by 23.2 percent to 46 trillion dong (1.7 billion dollars).
Nguyen Thi Huong, director general of the ministry's National Statistics Office, said the commerce and service sector is expected to maintain strong momentum in the coming months.
She attributed the positive outlook to supportive domestic consumption policies, tourism promotion campaigns, inflation control measures, and improved household incomes.
