Myanmar's Ministry of Hotels and Tourism inaugurated a new training school of Center for Tourism Development (CTD) in Kengtung town of Shan state with the support from the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) Special Fund 2023, according to the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism on Thursday.
Alongside the inauguration ceremony, hotel service training courses also began. These include front office, food and beverage services, and housekeeping, U Naung Naung Lin Aung, a director from the ministry told Xinhua.
A total of 62 trainees joined the courses, he said.
Kengtung has rich tourism resources, and the CTD in Kengtung aims to boost tourism development and create job opportunities for local people, he added.
There are now two CTD training schools in Myanmar-one in Yangon and one in Kengtung, U Naung Naung Lin Aung said.
