The regional leading food and beverage trade fair THAIFEX-ANUGA Asia 2025 opened on Tuesday, providing a unique opportunity for businesses to explore advanced food innovations from around the world.
Jointly organized by Thailand's Department of International Trade Promotion, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Germany's Koelnmesse, the trade show serves as a crucial platform for food businesses of all sizes to engage in trade negotiations, build international partnerships, and expand their export potential.
Thai Commerce Minister Pichai Naripthaphan said at the opening ceremony that this year's exhibition has grown considerably, gathering over 3,200 companies from home and 56 countries and regions displaying their products in more than 6,200 booths.
According to Pichai, the success of this event and the continued growth of the food industry demonstrate the Southeast Asian nation's potential to become a global food business hub and a reliable food reserve for the world.
"Our country is well-prepared, with world-class infrastructure, a strong business network, and solid government support. These elements play a vital role in building international confidence and positioning Thailand as a future global center for service industries," he said.
The event, recognized as the fourth-largest food and beverage trade show globally, featured products from key segments of the food industry, from agricultural products and processed foods to food technologies and related innovations.
It also included special exhibitions, seminars, and activities designed to keep attendees up to date on the latest food trends, shifting consumer needs, and other valuable industry insights, creating a fresh, forward-thinking experience that promotes business growth and long-term success.
The five-day event is expected to welcome over 90,000 visitors from 140 countries and regions, generating a projected trade value exceeding 98 billion baht (about 2.99 billion U.S. dollars) through immediate orders and deals finalized within one year.
