In recent years, Guangxi Botanical Garden of Medicinal Plants has signed the "Memorandum of Cooperation on the Protection and Sustainable Development of Medicinal Plant Resources" with the Institute of Traditional Medicine in Laos. The Garden has led delegations to Laos twice to conduct medicinal plant resources surveys. They have worked with Lao experts in compiling the Lao Pharmacopoeia (Volume 1). The Garden funded the construction of the germplasm resource nursery and breeding nursery of medicinal plants in Laos, as well as the publication of the "Lao Ethnomedicine Chronicle. All these represent shining examples of implementing the Joint Statement on Deepening Cooperation on Traditional Medicine Within the Framework of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation and safeguarding the people's health in the Lancang-Mekong River Basin.
