According to Xinhua report, the China-Cambodia"Peace Angel-2023" joint humanitarian exercise came to a successful end on Thursday at the Royal Cambodian Army's Special Forces Command in Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia.
Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Tea Seiha and leader of the Chinese observation group Wang Shuqian, as well as military attaches of foreign countries to Cambodia attended the closing ceremony in which a joint humanitarian rescue exercise was performed by both militaries.
In the joint exercise, both soldiers conducted disaster site search and rescue, treated the sick and wounded, and prevented and controlled communicable diseases.
Speaking at the event, Seiha said the joint exercise was a new starting point for solidarity and cooperation between the two militaries and friendship between the two peoples, and was of great significance for the two countries in developing a comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation and in building a community with a shared future.
Meanwhile, Wang said the joint humanitarian exercise was a milestone in promoting practical exchanges between China and Cambodia, and a new manifestation of the deep friendship between the two countries.
"In-depth exchanges between both militaries on health services have improved their abilities to jointly carry out international humanitarian medical rescue," he said.
At the closing ceremony, officers and soldiers of both sides who had an outstanding performance in the exercise were awarded honorary certificates issued by the Cambodian Ministry of National Defence.
Also at the event, the Chinese army donated medicine and other medical supplies to the Cambodian Royal Army.
In the joint exercise, which began on Sept. 16, both sides mobilized more than 700 troops and used more than 1,000 sets of equipment including Y-20 transport aircraft, Y-9 medical ambulance aircraft, disinfection drones, negative pressure ambulances, and tent hospitals.
