An event to promote traditional Chinese tea art and related customs was held at the China Cultural Center in Vientiane, the capital of Laos, on May 21.

The China International Culture Association, the China Cultural Center in Laos and the Culture and Tourism Department of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region organized the activity. The event introduced the preparation of Guangxi's Liubao tea, a national intangible cultural heritage of China, as well as the customs related to youcha, a gruel of sweetened fired flour originating from people of Yao ethnic group.

Lao participants remarked that the event increased their understanding of China's tea culture, technology and industry. They also expressed hope that future tea-related events would continue to deepen the traditional friendship, cultural integration and mutual learning between the two nations.
