Senior CPC, CPV officials hold talks in Beijing

Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Cai Qi held talks with Truong Thi Mai, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, permanent member of the CPV Central Committee Secretariat and head of the Organization Commission of the CPV Central Committee, in Beijing on Wednesday.

Cai, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, said in a meeting with Truong Thi Mai that, Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, provided important guidance on promoting better development of relations between the two parties and countries and building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future committed to the cause of peace and progress of humanity, injecting new impetus into consolidating the development of China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

China and Vietnam should focus on implementing the important consensus reached by the general secretaries of the two parties, deepen political mutual trust, enhance exchanges and mutual learning, promote strategic synergy, and expand practical cooperation to consolidate the positive momentum of bilateral ties, said Cai.

Noting the international community is now experiencing multiple risks and challenges, Cai said General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative to contribute Chinese wisdom to solving global problems and promoting global governance.

China is willing to work with Vietnam to promote the implementation of the initiatives, strengthen coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs, firmly support each other on issues concerning each other's core interests, jointly safeguard the common interests of developing countries, and uphold regional and global peace, stability, development and prosperity, Cai added.

Truong Thi Mai said Vietnam supports the strong development of socialist China, which makes important contributions to world stability and development. Vietnam hopes to work with China to continuously enhance political mutual trust, promote cooperation in such fields as economy and trade, the Belt and Road Initiative, tourism, and agriculture, and strengthen cultural, youth, and local exchanges, said Truong Thi Mai.

Vietnam firmly adheres to the one-China policy, supports China's great cause of reunification, and is willing to promote communication and cooperation in multilateral fields to advance regional and world peace and development, she added.
