Myanmar holds dance festival to promote friendship among LMC countries

Myanmar has held a traditional dance festival to strengthen Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) in the capital city of Nay Pyi Taw, the state-run media reported on Friday.

The traditional dance festival was organized on Thursday to promote socioeconomic development, preserve cultural heritage and strengthen friendship among young artists of the LMC countries, the report said.

Speaking at the event, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko urged the participants to preserve traditional dances of the respective countries and to pass them down to new generations.

Artists from the six LMC countries participated in the event, performing their traditional dances, the report said.

The six countries comprise China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand.
