Symposium highlights China-Thailand traditional friendship

A symposium on the future of China-Thailand friendly relations was held in Bangkok on Nov. 5 to 6, 2022. More than 70 young people from the two sides took part in the event. 

Feng Junying, education counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, said China-Thailand relations have played an important leading role in the development of relations between China and ASEAN countries. 

Feng pointed out that under the guidance of the leaders of the two countries and through the joint efforts of the two peoples, China-Thailand relations will be ushered into an even brighter future that will better contribute to the development of the two countries and benefit the two peoples.

Patcharinruja Juntaronanont, advisor to Thailand's minister of higher education, science, research and innovation, said that China has effectively improved its education quality through technology as well as having promoted education equity; therefore, there are many worthy lessons from the Chinese side for Thailand. 

She also introduced the advantages of Thai students studying in China and Chinese students studying in Thailand, the challenges Thailand faces in managing international students, as well as the situation regarding higher education in Thailand after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The symposium was conducted through online and offline forms. The in-depth exchanges between Chinese and Thai students helped deepen their mutual understanding. They said that China-Thailand friendship has a long history, and the traditional family-like friendship of the two nations needs to be passed on to future generations.
