The opening ceremony of the Myanmar Civil Servant Trainer Seminar was held online on Dec. 14. A total of 45 Myanmar civil servants participated in the seminar.

The training was hosted by China's Ministry of Commerce and undertaken by the National Academy of Governance.

Chen Hai, Chinese ambassador to Myanmar, Tan Shufu, economic and commercial counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, U San Myint, member of Myanmar's Union Civil Service Board, and Duan Hongxia, deputy director of the International and Hong Kong and Macao Training Center of China's National Academy of Governance attended the ceremony.

In his speech, Ambassador Chen Hai said that Myanmar is an important neighbor of China, adding that the two countries are committed to the Belt and Road initiative and the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor in a bid to build a China-Myanmar community with a shared future centered on the interests of the people.

He recalled that since the outbreak of the epidemic, in facing the difficulties, China and Myanmar have helped each other, writing a new chapter in "Paukphaw" friendship and demonstrating the spirit of the China-Myanmar community with a shared future.

Chen said that China is willing to increase sharing of governance experience with Myanmar to help with Myanmar's stable development so that the cooperation will better benefit the people of Myanmar.

In 2019, China held two seminars for Myanmar civil servant trainers, and the 95 Myanmar civil servant trainers who participated in the trainings helped promote the sharing of governance experience between the two countries.

U San Myint reviewed the China-Myanmar cooperation in human resources over recent years, and expressed his gratitude to China for its assistance in training projects. He said that the training course will help the Myanmar civil servant trainers learn from China’s governance experience and the specific practices of Chinese civil servant training. He hoped that in the future, the two countries could deepen human resources cooperation, help improve the quality of Myanmar's civil servants, and better benefit the people of Myanmar.
