The 2021 China (Hainan)-Cambodia Tropical Agriculture Technology Training Course for standardized banana production technology was launched online Nov. 29.

The course involved a theoretical study section, in which teachers from the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences lead classes for students at the Royal University of Agriculture in Cambodia, as well as field practice in Cambodia.

The training course covered the outlook of the Cambodian banana industry, environmentally-friendly prevention and control technology for plant diseases, fruit preservation and waste resource utilization techniques, as well as brand building and high-efficiency cultivation techniques for mangoes.

Ung Vantha, consul general of Cambodia in Haikou, said that Cambodian bananas and mangoes have been successfully sold to China, thanks to the country's strong support. He called it a "milestone in China-Cambodia agricultural cooperation," and believes that more Cambodian agricultural products will be exported to the Chinese market in the future.
