The Chinese International Education Foundation (CIEF) issued a letter of authorization to Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology (NJUIT) in Beijing on July 23, allowing it to establish a Confucius Institute for vocational education at the Cambodia University of Technology and Science (CamTech) in conjunction with the Federation of Khmer Chinese in Cambodia (FKCC).

The CIEF authorized the NJUIT to use the brand, name and logo of the Confucius Institute, according to the letter of authorization.

Xie Yonghua, president of the NJUIT, introduced the cooperative project.

Fang Qiaosheng, chairman of the FKCC, said that with the deepening of China-Cambodia relations and the increasing investment of Chinese enterprises in Cambodia, the demand for Chinese professionals is growing.

Fang said that the joint establishment of the Confucius Institute for vocational education at the CamTech will help expand bilateral cooperation in Chinese language teaching and vocational skills training.

He celebrated the new institute as another step towards building the China-Cambodia community with a shared future.
