The construction of Phonhong Station of the China-Laos Railway has been completed, announced China Railway Construction Group Co., Ltd on July 23, 2021. The station is located in Phonhong, some 70 kilometers north of Vientiane, the capital of Laos. Combining Chinese and Lao architectural styles, it has a total area of nearly 1,500 square meters and a maximum capacity of 300 passengers.
The China-Laos railway, which stretches more than 1,000 km from Kunming, capital of China's Yunnan province, to Vientiane of Laos is scheduled to open in December this year. Upon completion, it will slash the travel time between the two cities to less than one day.
