1) The First LMC Senior Officials' Meeting
The First LMC Senior Officials' Meeting was held in Beijing, China on April 7, 2015. Liu Zhenmin, Vice Foreign Minister of China and Nopadol Gunavibool, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand co-chaired the meeting. Sok Siphan, Advisor of the Royal Government of Cambodia, U Myint Thu, Director Genearl of the ASEAN Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, Vu Quang Minh, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam attended the meeting. The theme of the First LMC Senior Officials' Meeting was"Six Countries, One Community of Shared Destiny: building Lancang-Mekong Dialogue and Cooperation Mechanism to Promote Regional Sustainable Development." Senior officials exchanged views on the First Foreign Ministers' Meeting and the concept papers, and they reached a consensus on the goals, visions and key priority areas of the mechanism.
2) The Second LMC Senior Officials' Meeting
The Second LMC Senior Officials' Meeting was held in Chiang Rai, Thailand on August 21, 2015. Liu Zhenmin, vice Foreign Minister of China and Nopadol Gunavibool, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand co-chaired the meeting. Sok Siphan, Advisor of the Royal Government of Cambodia, Songkane Luangmuninthone, Director General of the Economic Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos, Vu Quang Minh, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and Myo Myint Than, Myanmar Ambassador to Thailand attended the meeting. Senior officials had an in-depth exchange of views on concept papers, on the future development of the LMC mechanism and on the preparation for the upcoming First Foreign Ministers' Meeting.
3) The Third LMC Senior Officials' Meeting
The Third LMC Senior Officials' Meeting was held in Sanya, China on February 24, 2016. Liu Zhenmin, Vice Foreign Minister of China and Nopadol Gunavibool, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand co-chaired the meeting. Sok Siphan, Advisor of the Royal Government of Cambodia, Songkane Luangmuninthone, Director General of the Economic Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos, U Myint Thu, Director Genearl of the ASEAN Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, U Soe Han, Director General of the Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, and Vu Quang Minh, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam attended the meeting. The meeting focused upon the preparation for the upcoming First LMC Leaders' Meeting in Sanya in late March.
4) The Fourth LMC Senior Officials' Meeting
The Fourth LMC Senior Officials' Meeting was held in Siem Reap, Cambodia on December 22, 2016. Xiao Qian, Director General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China and Sok Siphan, Advisor of the Royal Government of Cambodia co-chaired the meeting. Vitavas Srivihok, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Thai Foreign Ministry, Vu Quang Minh, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Songkane Luangmuninthone, Director General of the Economic Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lao PDR, and Soe Han, deputy Director General of the Strategic Studies and Training Department of Myanmar attended the meeting. Senior officials exchanged views on the preparation for the upcoming Second Foreign Ministers' Meeting.
5) The Fifth LMC Senior Officials' Meeting
On Oct. 28, 2017, the 5th Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) Senior Officials' Meeting was held in Kunming, Yunnan. The meeting was co-chaired by Acting Chinese Senior Official for LMC and Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Xiao Qian and Cambodian Senior Official and Advisor to the Royal Government of Cambodia Sok Siphana and attended by senior officials or representatives of senior officials from Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Viet Nam. All participants exchanged views on the process of the LMC, future plans for LMC development and preparatory works for the series of important meetings in the next stage and others at the meeting.
6) The Sixth LMC Senior Officials' Meeting
On Jan. 9, the 6th Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) Senior Officials' Meeting was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, with high-level officials from the six Lancang-Mekong countries finalizing the Five-year Action Plan and the Phnom Penh Declaration for the upcoming 2nd LMC Leaders' Meeting.
