Cambodia's Ministry of Health (MoH) on Monday reminded people to be highly vigilant against the COVID-19 as Christmas and the New Year are on the horizon.

In its statement, the MoH urged all Cambodians and expatriates to properly comply with health measures by wearing a face mask, washing hands frequently with soap, alcohol, or hand sanitizer, and keeping a physical distance of at least 1.5 meters between each other.

The ministry also advised people to avoid crowded areas and to neither shake hands nor hug when they greet each other.

"A gathering with more than 20 people must be avoided," the MoH said."Businesses such as restaurants, shopping malls, and banks among others, must properly follow safety rules and must not allow customers with no face mask to enter."

The ministry added that business staff must screen their customers' temperature, provide them alcohol or gels for handwashing at the entrance, and let them maintain a physical distance of 1.5 meters from each other.

It added that if anyone has suspicious symptoms of the COVID-19, he/she can call the 115 hotline for free.

The Southeast Asian country has so far recorded a total of 363 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with zero deaths and 345 recoveries, according to the MoH.
