The Chinese-Vietnam Railway Bridge is located in Hekou, which is the largest port in the Yunnan section of the China-Vietnam border. The 140-meter-long railway bridge crosses the Nanxi River, connecting Hekou with the old streets of Vietnam. It is the only train route from Yunnan to Vietnam.

More than 20 maintenance workers are adjusting the height of the China-Vietnam railway bridge on the Nanxi River of the China-Vietnam border.

Looking at the port of Hekou, the closed passes at both ends of the bridge have replaced the bustling scene of the past. Despite this, international freight trains still travel across smoothly after strict disinfection and quarantine. By November, there were 1,450 intermodal trains between China and Vietnam this year, carrying 514,000 tons of import and export cargo.

In order to ensure the smooth transport of international goods, the Taiyuan Public Works Section of China Railway Kunming Group has been conducting an overhaul of the bridge, so as to avoid issues caused by heavy load or large vehicles crossing the road.

The railway departments have strengthened communication and coordination with the Vietnamese side to ensure the maintenance of the bridge by constantly optimizing transportation and operation plans and dynamically grasping information regarding operation and traffic flow information from the Vietnamese side.

In addition, great efforts have been made to overcome the differences in railway operation methods and standards between the two countries. They are expected to carry out joint rectification works that are of high-quality and efficiency.

At present, the bridge has completed a comprehensive maintenance overhaul to ensure the safe and smooth operation of transnational trains under the epidemic.
