The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Myanmar and Myanmar Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement jointly held an online ceremony for the handover of early childhood development supplies on November 6 in the context of the COVID-19 epidemic.

After the outbreak of COVID-19, the Chinese government has actively supported UNICEF's epidemic response plan and made immediate donations to help developing countries including Myanmar cope with the epidemic. Promoting Early Childhood Development Project is a trilateral cooperation project in Myanmar between the Ministry of Commerce of China and the UNICEF. The main components of this project include making animations to raise awareness of COVID-19 protection measures among children, developing minority language storybooks suitable for young children, providing health care workers with young children early childhood development products suitable for use at home, and setting up psychosocial training courses.

The donations, which comprise of 60,000 sets of early childhood development supplies, are mainly given to frontline medical and health workers and anti-epidemic volunteers with young children to thank them for their contributions in fighting the epidemic in Myanmar and their efforts in supporting the physical and mental development of children.
