In order to realize the outcomes discussed at the fourth Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Foreign Ministers' Meeting and further promote friendly exchanges and cooperation between Jiangsu and Mekong countries, Jiangsu province has set up the LMC-Jiangsu Scholarship this year.
In March, the enrollment and recommendation process officially began. Selected students from Mekong River would be receiving a scholarship to study their master’s degree in Jiangsu. In April, after a rigorous selection process, the selection results were finalized. By the end of October, owing to the joint efforts of the foreign affairs office of Jiangsu Province and relevant universities, all the selected students successfully completed the online enrollment and began to participate in online courses, marking the successful implementation of the LMC-Jiangsu Scholarship.
We have interviewed some of the scholarship recipients from Lancang-Mekong countries to gain insights into how they feel about their studies.
I feel proud of myself for achieving the LMC-Jiangsu Scholarship this fiscal year. I have been given the opportunity to study with highly experienced teachers, advisors and helpful classmates from countries around the world. After graduation, I will actively contribute to both countries by applying my knowledge and skills at work to increase cooperation between the governments of Lao PDR and China. I will be doing that with the help of the cooperation framework proposed by the Lancang Mekong Cooperation (LMC).
