Third meeting of the LMC Joint Working Group on Agriculture held

Recently, the third meeting of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Joint Working Group on Agriculture was held in the form of video. Representatives from the agricultural sectors of Cambodia, China, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, as well as diplomats from the Chinese embassies in Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed in detail the outcomes of LMC over the past year and shared its progress and experience in applying for and implementing agricultural projects under the LMC Special Fund. In addition, the action plan was also discussed focusing on the implementation of the cluster of Lancang-Mekong projects.

All parties also engaged in an in-depth discussion on further improving working mechanisms and promoting the construction of the Lancang-Mekong agricultural cooperation technology and information exchange platform. In addition, they also discussed ways to encourage the sharing of experience among member states in digital agriculture, agricultural information, technology and knowledge.

The LMC agricultural joint working group was established in 2017, which is a mechanism platform for LMC agricultural cooperation. Its main goal is to boost the the coordinated development of agriculture in the sub-region and ensure food security and food security.
