Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha of Thailand

On the evening of January 10, 2018 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha of Thailand in Phnom Penh.

Li Keqiang expressed that China and Thailand are as close as one family. This notion is deeply rooted in the hearts of both peoples. Bilateral relations enjoy a sound momentum of development, and cooperation in various fields has been constantly moving forward. The first-stage project of the China-Thailand railway started last month, marking a new level of China-Thailand cooperation. It is hoped that the two sides will keep up their efforts in promoting the smooth implementation of the project and moving forward China-Thailand cooperation in other fields. China stands ready to strengthen the integration of the Belt and Road Initiative and Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor as well as other development strategies, improve the level of China-Thailand trade facilitation, and strengthen cooperation in fields including economy, trade, tourism and science and technology, so as to better realize mutual benefit and win-win results.

Prayut Chan-o-cha expressed that Thailand and China enjoy great potential for cooperation. The railway cooperation between the two countries is of historic significance. The Thai side pays close attention to China's implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy, and stands ready to learn from China's development experience, strengthen the docking of development strategies of the two countries, and reinforce cooperation in such fields as economy, trade, science and technology, tourism and education, so as to constantly elevate bilateral relations to new heights.
