Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc of Vietnam

On the evening of January 10, 2018 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc of Vietnam in Phnom Penh.

Li Keqiang expressed that at present, China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership enjoys stable and forward-looking development. General Secretary and President Xi Jinping successfully visited Vietnam, opening up a new chapter for bilateral relations. The Chinese side is willing to meet Vietnam halfway, hold the general direction of steady development for bilateral relations, and maintain high-level exchanges, in order to push bilateral cooperation in various areas to score more practical outcomes and facilitate the two countries' development in accordance with the general idea of developing maritime, land and financial cooperation simultaneously. China stands ready to, together with Vietnam, strengthen cooperation under the framework of the Lancang-Mekong cooperation (LMC), and make joint efforts to safeguard peace, stability and development in the region.

Nguyen Xuan Phuc congratulated on the complete success of the 2nd LMC Leaders' Meeting, and expressed that the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries exchanged visits within last year, reaching important consensus on cooperation. The Vietnamese side values Vietnam-China friendly cooperation, and stands ready to continuously maintain high-level contacts and enhance cooperation in such areas as economy and trade with China, in a bid to promote bilateral relations for continuous and forward-looking development.
