Myanmar's domestic investment exceeds 1.1 bln USD in first 10 months in FY 2019-20

Myanmar's domestic investment exceeded 1.1 billion U.S. dollars in the first 10 months of the present fiscal year (FY) 2019-2020, state-run media reported on Thursday.

From Oct. 1, 2019 to July 31 this year, Myanmar Investment Commission gave the go-ahead to 113 local enterprises with a capital of 1.2 trillion kyats (over 881 million U.S. dollars) and some existing enterprises expanded their capitals.

During the period, the domestic investment involved the country's sectors of real estate, manufacturing, hotels and tourism, construction, industrial estate, energy, mining, livestock and fisheries, agriculture and other services.

Of them, construction, manufacturing, real estate development, hotels and tourism and agriculture sectors attracted most domestic investment.
