The China Foundation for Peace and Development Tuesday donated medical protective equipment to be used in Myanmar's fight against COVID-19.
The donated equipment including surgical masks, medical disposable protective clothing, medical goggles and non-contact infrared thermometers were handed over to Myanmar's Ministry of Health and Sports and Ministry of Education.
"This donation highlights the foundation's sincerity on Myanmar's COVID-19 fight and on bilateral relation between China and Myanmar," Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Chen Hai said.
"This donation means a lot as the protective gears are of vital essentials to our medical staff who are working on the frontline in fight against COVID-19," Dr. Zaw Than Htun, director-general of Medical Research Department under the Health and Sports Ministry, told Xinhua.
So far, Myanmar has reported 161 COVID-19 confirmed cases with six deaths as of Tuesday.
