China is now working hard to overcome the difficulties while the Ministry of Commerce and the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia are taking further measures to coordinate and guarantee the supply and facilitate the transportation of textile raw materials to Cambodia.

Many companies, including China COSCO Shipping Group, Orient Overseas Container Line and China National Foreign Trade Transportation (Group) Corporation will join efforts to guarantee the transportation of textile raw materials, and make sure that the liners ships will arrive at their respective ports one after another. Among them, the ship liner carrying more than 60 containers of textile raw materials is expected to arrive first at Sihanoukville Port on March 9, 2020.

Wu expresses that with joint support from both the Chinese and Cambodian government and the efforts put in by relevant enterprises, China's textile raw materials will be delivered to Cambodian factories efficiently, assisting Cambodian clothing and footwear industries to overcome the difficulties as soon as possible.

The garment manufacturing industry is one of Cambodia's main economic pillar industries, providing a large number of jobs. More than 60% of the industry's auxiliary materials are imported from China, according to the Textile Enterprise Association of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia.
