Direct chartered flight linking Wutaishan, China and Bangkok, Thailand launched

A direct chartered flight linking Wutaishan, North China’s Shanxi province and Bangkok, Thailand was launched. A chartered flight fully loaded with 155 passengers took off smoothly from Xinzhou Wutaishan Airport at 22:30 on January 3.

The flight, operated by China Eastern Airlines, uses Airbus A320 and runs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The outbound flight number is MU9765, departing from Xinzhou Wutaishan Airport at 21:30(UTC+8), arriving at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport at 1:20(UTC+7); the return flight number is MU9766, departing from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport at 2:20(UTC+7), arriving at Xinzhou Wutaishan Airport at 8:20 (UTC+8).

Thailand is a preferred destination for most tourists in Shanxi, China with the capital Bangkok topping as “The World’s most Popular Tourist Destination” for years in a row. As the airport is located in Xinzhou, Shanxi, the launch of the new route provides tourists in Xinzhou and surrounding areas with more convenient and diverse travelling options to Bangkok.

As the Spring Festival and winter holidays approaches, so will the peak season for outbound tourism. Shanxi Baohua International Travel Service Agency has launched a series of 6-day tour and 7-day tour packages in the market. Otherwise, the flight tickets can also be purchased separately via the major travel agencies in Shanxi. According to the head of Shanxi Baohua, it is predicted that the number of passengers taking Wutaishan-Bangkok direct chartered flight to Thailand will increase by 3,000 during the upcoming Spring Festival.
