A Yunnan tourism promotion conference titled “Colorful Yunnan Tourist Paradise” was held in Bangkok, Thailand on Dec. 23, 2019. This conference, hosted by Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and Yunnan Media Group, aimed to promote Yunnan’s culture and tourism resources in Thailand.
2019 marks the Year of Media Exchanges between ASEAN and China. This event is significant in enhancing bilateral strategic partnership.

The conference introduced Yunnan’s tourism to Thailand, Laos and Myanmar, and built bridges of friendship between the countries. Revolving around the three themes— “Colorful Yunnan” “Enjoying Yunnan” and “Meeting Yunnan”, a variety of activities were held. The audiences were presented with Yunnan’s unique geographical advantages, gorgeous nature scenery, sound ecological environment, diverse national customs, time-honored cultural traditions, its ancient history as well as delightful traveling experiences.

The success of the conference will motivate Yunnan to further develop tourism industry so as to develop not only into a famous domestic and international tourist destination, but also a popular transit location for South Asian and Southeast Asian tourists.
