First Phnom Penh-Shenzhen round-trip direct flight of Cambodia Airways launched successfully

At 00:15 a.m. local time on Dec. 28, 2019, an Airbus A319 of Cambodia Airways successfully landed at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, marking the first successful direct flight of Cambodia Airways between Phnom Penh and Shenzhen.

According to the airline, the flight took off from Phnom Penh International Airport at 20:50 on Dec. 27, 2019. Cambodia Airways was established in Sep. 2017 and currently has 4 Airbus A319 and A320 in total. These air flights, with Cambodian capital Phnom Penh as the hub, radiate to China and ASEAN countries.

The airline’s CEO said that since officially entering the Chinese market in August 2019, the company has opened a number of domestic and international routes, covering cities such as Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Westport, Bangkok, Macau, Fuzhou and Wenzhou, safely transporting more than 410,000 passengers.

Cambodia Airways stated that the direct route from Phnom Penh to Shenzhen was the third flight they had launched in the Chinese mainland, and the company is planning to open more direct flights from Phnom Penh to Chinese cities such as Chengdu and Changsha.
