Rubber Day Celebrated in Bueng Kan, Thailand

The 8th Bueng Kan Rubber Day festival was inaugurated recently in Bueng Kan, northeast Thailand, attracting rubber enterprises from China, Laos and other countries. More than ten Chinese enterprises signed rubber imports agreements with Bueng Kan Rubber Association, which became the highlight of the Rubber Day.

Jurin Laksanawisit, Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister of Thailand, said in a speech at the opening ceremony on Dec. 15 that the Thai government has issued relevant policies to encourage the full use of rubber and is actively cooperating with other countries including China. He pointed out that Bueng Kan is an important rubber producing area in Thailand and hoped that the festival would further promote the development of rubber products and increase local people's income.

Former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and Chairman of Thai-Chinese Culture Promotion Committee, Pini Zalo, Baba, said that China's market is huge, and a number of Chinese enterprises have signed rubber imports agreements with Bueng Kan Rubber Association this time, showing great interest in Thailand's rubber and rubber products.

Liao Junyun, Chinese Consul General to Khon Kaen, Thailand, said that Bueng Kan is the rubber planting center in northeast Thailand and also a rubber export hub of Thailand. Chinese rubber companies and Bueng Kan have leveraged mutual complementarity in their cooperation in agricultural technology and improved resource allocation.
