At noon of January 11, 2018 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met with King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia at the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh.
Li Keqiang firstly conveyed President Xi Jinping's warm greetings to King Norodom Sihamoni as well as the Chinese side's best wishes to Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk. Li Keqiang expressed that China and Cambodia enjoy a time-honored friendship with profound friendly sentiments between the two peoples. The older generations of leaders of the two countries made historical contributions to the development of China-Cambodia relations, which is worth of remembering. President Xi Jinping successfully visited Cambodia in 2016, promoting China-Cambodia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to a new stage. Standing at the new starting point of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations in 2018, the Chinese side is willing to work together with Cambodia to inherit the past and usher in the future, and push forward bilateral relations for constant and forward-looking development.
Li Keqiang stressed that China will continue firmly supporting Cambodia's efforts in developing economy, improving people's livelihood and safeguarding stability, and stands ready to provide assistance for the Cambodian side within its due capacity. It is believed that the development of China-Cambodia comprehensive strategic partnership will better benefit the two peoples.
Norodom Sihamoni expressed that Cambodia and China enjoy profound traditional friendship. The Cambodian side thanks the Chinese government for its long-term support and assistance to the country's economic and social development. Premier Li Keqiang's visit to Cambodia this time has further consolidated bilateral traditional friendship and deepened bilateral cooperation in various fields, which is of great significance.
