Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Jurin Laksanawisit on Tuesday said the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement will be considerably supportive to Thailand's trade and investment potentials.

The free trade agreement between 10 member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and five partners, namely China, South Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, will promote the potential of Thailand's trade and investment sectors in dealing with those countries throughout the ASEAN region and beyond, said the deputy prime minister and commerce minister, who signed the RCEP agreement on behalf of Thailand on Sunday.

Thailand's export-related manufacturing and trading sectors are expected to be considerably strengthened and thriving, he said.

The Thai government will promptly forward the RCEP agreement to the parliament to ratify alongside other ASEAN countries, Jurin said.
